Chess Club Patch

To help promote and build a stronger sense of identity for the Chess Club I was a member of, I designed this graphic to be used as a patch or sticker. The goal was to create a simple, recognizable emblem that members could proudly display, sparking curiosity and engagement among peers.

I designed the pawn because it’s an instantly recognizable symbol of chess. The brown tones give the design a collegiate, yet welcoming and casual feel that reflects the club’s vibe.

Cutie Pie Cuts – Salon Rack Card

My cousin recently started cosmetology school, and when she told me an idea for her future salon name, Cutie Pie Cuts, I couldn’t resist conceptualizing her branding and printed materials! While the service menu is still in the works, I created this brochure as a fun preview of what’s to come.

For the brand concept, I imagined a playful yet professional aesthetic. The goal was to strike a balance between cute, punk and polished. Something that feels fun and youthful but also trustworthy.

The shears are bow-shaped, the cupcake a nod to “pie” and the bubbles reminiscent of a gentle hair wash. I created all icons, as always. For the typeface, I chose styles that resemble bubble letters with a digital edge, reflecting Jada’s minimalist, tech-savvy personality.

Online Shop Banner

I created a banner for my brother’s online shop where he sells 3D models and 2D art prints! The goal was to create a brand inspired by traditional printing and his aesthetic preferences.

For printing: I incorporated a 90s-style computer, carrying it’s manila tones throughout the piece. I also designed the paper and formatted the text like a hyperlink. Overall, the concept pays homage to and contrasts with how far printing technology has come.

My brother is a fan of nostalgic aesthetics such as Frutiger Aero, Global Village Coffeehouse and Utopian Scholastic. A commonality between these aesthetics is maximalism or collage-like visuals. To recreate this, I included a collage of his 3D models.

Polymorph Zine – Student Project

Polymorph is a zine for COMS 581: Senior Project in BCMS/BFS. I was instructed to identify a point of contention with “living digitally” in contemporary society. For this, I chose the curation and commodification of “perfect” personas on Instagram, the issue being that while people capitalize on said personas, others may naturally compare themselves and feel inadequate. My “caring solution” is to reform Instagram to value community discussion instead. Lastly, I had to incorporate an element of “care” into my media: I worked with Braille to increase the accessibility of my zine.
